s of dollars is being installed at thelocal gas plant. Manager A. J. Stephensis justly proud of the Vallejo plant, as itis the equal of any of the big system oper-ated by the well known California cor-poration. Only in size is it outclassedby the works in San Francisco, Oaklandand other large cities. Since taking overthe Vallejo plant ten years ago, the Pa-cific Gas and Electric Company has ex-pended over $100,000 in making it mod-ern in every respect, and as a resultVallejo enjoys an unsurpassed gas service. This morning Manager Stephens re-ceived authority to have the Companysollicc in Marin street remodeled andwhen the proposed work is completed thegas company will have an office that willcompare favorably with any similar placein this city. The old horse-drawn wagon which hasbeen used by the company for manyyears is to be replaced by a light motor-driven wagon which will enable the com-panys employees to cover tiie city inmuch quicker time than at present.
