little time ago the writer took a tripup there in company with Dr. Thomas F. Hunt, the able Dean of the College of Ag-riculture at Berkeley. It was a most in-teresting experience, one that revealed muchof the thoroughness with which scientific re-search of all kinds is pursued by the mod-ern college professor. At this School everybranch of the agricultural industry is ex-ploited in both its practical and experimentalphases, and new discoveries are rewardingthose who are devoting their lives to thesolution of the agricultural problem to theend that land cultivation may develop intoan exact science in which chance and thefortunes of season shall have no say. In the way of general information we aretold that the chief object of the UniversityFarm School course is to give students anunderstanding of the natural laws whichgovern plant and animal production and thebest methods of agricultural practice.
