The opening of the new office and sales-room of the Petaluma District was made theoccasion of a large turnout of the consumersof Pacific Service in that district. The storeroom formerly occupied by theoffice of the company has been remodeled andredecorated so that it looks like a new build-ing. The rear part of the store is used foroffice purposes, while the front has a displayof gas and electric appliances which would docredit to a much larger town. The lighting, consisting of ten 250-wattMazda lamps and four of the latest gas arcs,makes it the brightest spot in town. In addi-tion to above four 100-watt lamps light thesidewalk, the whole being surmounted by alarge Pacific Service sign in electric letters. Pacific Service entertaining St. Vincent Orphanage boys. ers had charge of this part of the show andsupphed cake baked in a gas oven and coffeemade in an electric perculator. A great deal of interest was shown in theautomatic water heater which was in opera-tion on the floor. An electric range was alsoconnected up and demonstrations were givenfor any one who was mterested m this formof cooking. As this was the holiday season much at-tention was paid to the small electric appli-ances and a number were sold for Christmaspresents. People living for a distance of several milesoutside of Petaluma came in and many in-quiries were made as to both gas and elec-tric service. The last night of the demonstration afterthe office had been closed to the public a din- ner was given to the employes of the district.The table was laid for twenty and an attrac-tive menu was served. The table decorations were electric lightin Christmas colors and Pacific Gas and El-ectric Company in electric letters. Man
