English: A tooth is prepped for pulling from a young Mongolian boy by U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Jose Cardenas, a native of
Hildalgo, Texas and currently assigned to the 8th Medical Group, Kunsan Air Base, Republic of Korea and Major (Dr.) Rebecca Neitzke, a native of Grand Rapids Minn., and currently assigned to Kunsan AB, ROK, while at the two-day multinational mobile clinic in Delgerkhaan, Mongolia on July 20 in support of Pacific Angel-Mongolia, a 13th Air Force led combined humanitarian assistance operation. U.S. soldiers, sailors and airmen worked together with Mongolian Armed Forces, Sri Lankan Forces and National Government Organization Project Hope in providing health care in Delgerkhaan for two days. Their team moves to a new location every two days to spread out their coverage in the area, while a stationary team works out of a hospital in Ondorkhan, Mongolia. This is the fourth year of Pacific Angel, but the first time the operation has been hosted in Mongolia. The operation helps cultivate common bonds and foster goodwill between the United States, Mongolia and other regional nations. In addition to veterinary training, a clinic is being refurbished and medical outreach events are being held in Ondorkhan, Delgerkhaan and Tsenkhermandal soums of the Hentii province from July 18-23. |
