Description

Giraffa camelopardalis = Giraffa camelopardalis (Linnaeus, 1758), juv.

English: Skull of juvenile giraffe (about 1 year old) from the Natural History Museum, right lateral view. can. = bifoliate canine tooth, gt.l. = conical swelling of the parietal bone, gt.m. = position of the median frontal bone swelling in adult giraffes, occ. = occipital crest, ot.l. = position of parietal bone swelling in the Okapi, ot.m. = position of the median frontal bone swelling in the Okapi, plv. = ethmoid vacuity, p.oss. = lateral ossicone, sfp. = fronto-parietal suture.
