LIVINUS, circa 1631-1633, door of naar Gerard SEGHERSd; doek 259 cm x 194 cm; in altaar nr. 80 van kapel XVIII, op zijn oorspronkelijke plaats.; De bisschop, in witte albe en met grijs schouderkapje, knielt vol berusting tussen zijn beulen; zijn mijter, staf en open boek liggen vóór zijn voeten; de ene beul, ruggelings gezien, met zwaard in hand, houdt hem bij de baard, terwijl de andere de tang met de uitgerukte tong opgeheven heeft; drie soldaten wonen de gebeurtenis bij ; landschapsachtergrond met ruïne.; Geschilderd in opdracht van Filip Lanchals, voor het altaar van Sint-Livinuskapel, dat reeds in de kerkrekening van 1627 wordt vermeld (Kervyn, 79); een schenking van Lanchals voor het schilderij dagtekent van 1631 (U.B.G., G 1366818) terwijl de gravure van Jacob Neefs 1633 is gedateerd.; Hersteld door Jan van de Blocq in 1710-1711 (Nota's VW, 1027 111).; Traditioneel toegeschreven aan G. Seghers (Sadeleire, Hellin, 490) ; vermeld als de ,,mattelisatie van Sint-Lieven door Schut' (U.B.G., G 6598 fol. 182-183).
