Summary
[edit]DescriptionPH-BUI B747-206B SUD KLM Royal Dutch Al ORD 24DEC86 (12671628045).jpg |
English: Replacing an earlier scanned photo with a better version. My apologies for the window reflections, I was unable to get closer to the glass where I was standing at the time.
KLM had their B747-200's converted with a -300 style 'stretched upper deck' (=SUD) This aircraft was delivered new to KLM in Dec-75 as a standard 747-200 'Combi' and was given the 'SUD' conversion in Oct-85. It was converted to all freight config in May-98 and continued to operate with KLM until, after 28 years service, it was sold to a leasing company in Aug-03. It was leased to Southern Air the same month as N746SA and flew with them for another 6 years until it was retired at Mojave, CA, USA in Dec-09. The last reported sighting I have was Apr-13, still stored at Mojave. |
