A collection of photographs of Mirza Riza Khan, an album of views of his house in Tbilisi, Georgia (1891), and a portrait of Mirza Ali Ashgar Khan Amin al-Soltan, comprising:

Album of photographs titled 'Apartement da Mirza Riza Khan, Tiflis 1891' (label on upper cover), oblong folio (327 x 370mm.), 6 albumen prints (220 x 280mm.), window mounted and bound concertina-style, contemporary black calf , upper cover with engraved metal label and applied metal decoration, lower cover with metal studs at corners, stamped in gilt on foot of first mount 'Otto Siebert, Tiflis', some fading to images, one joint detached, some loss to applied decoration and wear to binding

Four photographs of Mirza Riza Khan, comprising 3 studio portraits (175 x 120mm., 205 x 130mm., and 282 x 208mm.); the first two mounted on card, the latter by Eugène Pirou of Paris and mounted on thick board with gilt bevelled edges; and a photograph of Mirza Riza Khan with other officials in a long rowing boat (120 x 157mm.), mounted on card

Mirza Reza Khan (1846-1939) was a Persian diplomat and first secretary at the consulate in Tiflis where he intervened as a mediator for the release of Turkish citizens. He was later appointed to the consulate in Russia where he attended the coronation of Tsar Alexander III, then ambassador to Saint Petersburg (1895), Persian delegate to the Hague Peace Conference in 1899, then appointed Minister Plenipotentiary in Constantinople where he remained for five years; later he moved to Monaco and was recalled to Persia in 1912-14 where he served as Minister of Justice and then of Education. He was friends with Pierre Loti and wrote various books, including Perles d'Orient (1904).
