English: Per calendar week counted performed PCR tests per 1000 inhabitants in Germany for the detection of COVID-19. Per 100,000 inhabitants Germany does relatively few PCR tests, compared to other countries in Europe. Testing capacities are considered relatively low, critics criticize the lack of expansion, which could have been carried out for almost 2 years. Test capacity per week is expected to be about 2.5 million PCR tests per week, with PCR test shortages around mid-January. |

Info Risklayer points out that individuals may perform multiple testing and thus the numbers do not reflect the number of individuals tested. Subsequent reports are also possible. Late registrations will be made no later than Thursday for the last calendar week.
