This painting was a study for Et Møde i Videnskabernes Selskab ("A Meeting at the Society of Science"). The four persons are, from left Gehejmekonferensraad Jul. Thomsen, professor L. Ussing, professor S. M. Jørgensen and professor Wimmer.
