Les géoglyphes de ce site du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO (depuis 1994) sont réparties sur un plateau 80 km (50 mi) entre les villes de Nazca et Palpa et sont, selon certaines études, entre 500 av. J.-C. et vieux de 500 après Jésus-Christ.
