Pélerin du monde sublunaire
Description
Plaat 5 uit de serie Songes, Aan de voet van een bergmassief verschijnt links, half afgesneden, een galopperend zwart paard bereden door een in wit geklede ruiter. Hij kijkt naar de zon die rechts boven de vlakte staat en met haar zwakke stralen de diepe duisternis beneden maar nauwelijks verlicht. Het onderste deel van het hemellichaam lijkt half te worden versluierd door de eeuwige duisternis van het ondermaanse, maar het bovenste, grotere deel straalt in een veel helderder hemel.
