Title
overhead view of base sherd possibly Samian Ware
Description
English: A base sherd of Roman pottery. The fine fabric is slightly soft, and red in colour, without a core. On one surface is the remains of a red, gloss slip. On the side with no slip there is an obtuse angle with a curved incison along the boundary, this is possibly the edge of a base. It is probable this is Samian Ware dish. The sherd has split / laminated; probably due to frost damage.

Wall thickness 5.2mm.
