On their adventure to the top, they are met with this view of modern buildings hugging the fort walls at the entrace. The buildings at the horizon does not help the fact that the monument's place has been changed in the modern times- from being a place of power and authority, to a brown rubbled mess of rocks with some history. The negligence of the locals and constant tourist inflow has also played a main part in damaging the once-respected fort of Golconda. The buildings and resident houses have been established well within the fortifications and the many vehicles traverse around the Fort. A Times of India article reports that heritage activists claim that there has been dumping of trash done by the municipality of the city. All this has caused (if not, it has accelerated) the visible tarnish on the brown rocks in the Fort. Further harm can only worsen the structural beauty of the dear fort and may lead us to a time where there might be nothing left for us to awe at. The picture was taken to contrast the brown monotone fort with the colored modern houses. The saturation and the exposure have been lowered down to bring out the damaged look and the polluted atmosphere. The large negative space and the building on the horizon emphasize the gloomy atmosphere the picture aims to convey.
