THE SHORE LINE NEAR THE LITTLE HAMLET OF LAKEVIEW big bonfire for two grownup boys, thensleep beneath the stars. The second days voyage took us quiteto the head of the lake. We passed Gar-field Bay, passed the frowning battle-ments of Blacktail Mountain, shot bythe deep curve of Squaw Bay (delight-ful name), and at evening entered Idle-wild. The sun was just getting him to bedas we sped between the opposing cliffsthat almost meet at the entrance to thebay. The cliff swallows were skimmingthe surface of the water in myriads, theirbills chattering like the sound of rain ona tin roof as they snapped the white in-sects that were playing over the water.As we entered the deep, narrow bay thehungry trout were leaping in perfectfrenzy after these same insects. A fewfishing boats were out casting with greatsuccess. The method here is very much thesame as bait casting for black bass, ex-cept that what is locally known as aColorado spinner is used.
