ready to bend your frames. To do thisa mold must be made in the followingmanner, over which to shape them: Taketwo pieces of spruce or pine board andshape them in the same way as the moldswere made, but with a somewhat smallercurve, as in Fig. 7, the dotted line repre-senting the curve of the midship mold.Now fasten these pieces about eighteeninches apart, connecting them with stripsabout one inch by one and one-half inch,as in Fig. 8. The frames must be sawed from clear,straight-grained oak, and should be three-quarter inch by three-quarter inch byfour feet long, and if they are partial-ly seasoned they will bend and holdthe shape better than if green. Toprepare them for bending, place themin a wash boiler of boiling waterand boil them until soft enough tobend over your form without breaking.Take them from the boiler one, or if youfind you can bend themeasily enough, two at atime, and passing one endbetween the form and thebar shown at the end,wedge them tightly and,pressing the othe
