Summary
[edit]DescriptionOutflow from sewage works to Grand Union Canal - geograph.org.uk - 664533.jpg |
English: Treated effluent from works serving Watford and Rickmansworth before it flows into the canalised Colne (united with the Grand Union Canal). The channel bends sharply as it enters the canal; parallel curved concrete diverters help keep the flow smooth, and protect the banks. Characteristic bleach commonly used, rather than more bio-friendly options, in England to clean toilets (froth) is evident. Further south, the canal re-adopts a separate channel, see 664513. |
