A dirt backyard with a barbecue, rotisserie, and sitting area made of stones.

Communal meals were regularly served at this open hearth adjacent to Cesar and Helen Chavez's home. Saturday evenings and Sundays often found Helen gathered with volunteers and visitors at the small park and fieldstone grill pit, barbecuing and relaxing after a full day or week of hard work.
