This New Hardy Orange will delight all who like beautiful and novel hardy plants; anOrange Tree growing vigorously on the lawn, or in thegarden, blooming and fruiting in abundance, is certainlya rare sight. The beautiful little trees are entirely hardyin the open ground as far north as Boston. They are ofdwarf symmetrical growth, with glossy green trifoliateleaves; the lovely pure white orange blossoms are ele-gantly perfumed, and borne in constant succession; thefruit is small, bright red in color, and very curious. It blooms finely the first yearand gets better and grows larger withage; it grows three to five feet high, isperfectly hardy in allparts of the country and __ _ _ needs no protection inWinter; blooms in Julyand August, when otherflowers are scarce, andremains in bloom fortwo or three months.The flowers are PureWhite, afterwardschanging to pink, and Treatment.—No special treatment is required; the Hydrangea will grow and thrive in all ordinarysituations; the bush should be cut back every Spring, at least one-half of last seasons growth, dug aroundand well manured. The finest flowers are borne on the new or young wood, and are largest and bestwhen the plant has made a strong, vigorous growth.
