HIS grand 'New Double White Japan Snowball is undoubtedly the king of all hardy flowering
Shrubs. Do not confuse it with the common Snowball, which does not approach it in any
particular; it blooms in June, when tJie whole bush is completeli/ covered and loaded down with
great compact balls of pure white double flowers, like miniature Jloses. These magnificent balls of
flowers are borne in such great profusion that the.^ almost completel.^ hide the leaves and branches,
and the whole bush appears one dense mass of bloom ; the tree is of erect bush.' growth, with deep
glossy green leaves having a peculiar crimped and crinkled appearance ; grows six'to eight feet high
and is entirely hardy, needing no protection of any kind. The immense stock we now have is the
result of many years of careful work. Our fine illustration, which, though not nearly as handsome
as the plant itself, gives some idea of its wonderful beauty. We can corditilly recommend it as one of
the very best Hardy Ornamental Flowering Shrubs for dooryard, lawn and park planting ; it is also
very suitable for cemeteries, as it is vigorous and hardy and sure to bloom, and, being quite scarce and
rare, alwa^'s attracts a great deal of attention. It is one of the things you don't want to miss getting,
and ours is the true genuine variety, propagated from large old blooming plants here on our own
grounds. Note the reduced prices.

Public domain

This tag is designed for use where there may be a need to assert that any enhancements (eg brightness, contrast, colour-matching, sharpening) are in themselves insufficiently creative to generate a new copyright. It can be used where it is unknown whether any enhancements have been made, as well as when the enhancements are clear but insufficient. For known raw unenhanced scans you can use an appropriate {{PD-old}} tag instead. For usage, see Commons:When to use the PD-scan tag.

Note: This tag applies to scans and photocopies only. For photographs of public domain originals taken from afar, {{PD-Art}} may be applicable. See Commons:When to use the PD-Art tag.
