White ; in appearance almost like Martha, but the gain in size seemsto be coupled with a loss in quality, compared to our delicious, juicy, small, .EstivalisGrapes. A large number of his seedlings are of the Labrusca type, and among thesehis U. B., black ; Mianna and King William, white. MARSALA. (?) A red Grape ; bunch ver\ large, compact ; berry very large ;skin tough ; not very juicy or sweet, pulpy, with a strong native aroma ; very vig-orous, hardy, healthy and immensely productive ; free from rot and mildew ; thebest Grape for jelly and canning in Kansas. Ripe about with Concord ; originunknown ; introduced by Dr. Stayman. OUR NATIVE GRAPE. 16/ MARION. (Rip.) Origin unknown. Clusters compact, shouldered ; berries■nearly round, medium, purplish black ; skin quite thin, light bloom ; flesh separatesfreely from seeds ; wine flavor. MARION PORT. See York Madeira.

MARY ANN. (Labr.) Originated by J. B. Garber, Columbia, Pa. An earlyblack Grape, with large bunches ; berries oblong, oval, quite sweet but very foxy. r62 OUR NATIVE GRAPE. MARY. (?) Raised by Chas. Carpenter, Kellys Island, O.
