Theshingles are nailed on the same as theroof, except that a greater butt surfaceis exposed to the weather. Rough finish, dark brown brick areused for the chimney, because the effectmatches up well with the shingle siding.The roof has a little steeper pitch thanthe regular bungalow construction callsfor. Typical bungalow construction re-quires a very low ridge pole with roofsof slight pitch, but practically the rain-fall must decide how a roof should beinclined. The living rooms are on the sunnyside of the house, with one doorway andan archway connection between the liv-ing rooms and sleeping rooms. Thearchway is built for the purpose of mak-ing the front bedroom into a librarywhen only one bedroom is required.Both bedrooms are corner rooms, whichgives an abundance of light and ventila-tion. i
