Description
English: The crescents used on flags, banners and standards during the 16th and 17th centuries are "fatter" than we are used to seeing on Ottoman flags, as seen on flags and standards that exist in museums today. Take a look at the standard of Selim I. For this flag, only a description survives: "A red flag with a green circle and three crescents". As such, I have based the placement on the Egyptian flags of Mohammed Ali.
