FIGURE GROUPS FOR NEW LAW COURTS AT HANOVER BY OTTO R1CHTER ductions in the meantime have been so numerousthat it is worth while to say something aboutthem, or at least about his more recent work. Richter has designed all the models for theCivil Law Courts in Berlin—the Landgericht andthe Amtsgericht—and also for the Amtsgericht atSchoneberg near Berlin. Among the latter thebeautifully decorative pediment representing St.George in combat with the dragon, here symbolicalof Good in conflict with Evil, is deservingof special attention. For the Ministry of PublicEducation he executed the great figures of Medicineand Science; for the entrance to the Royal Museumof Applied Art two fine figures of a potter andembroideress ; for the new Criminal Court inBerlin he modelled large-sized figures representingHatredand Friendship, Falsehood and Truth.
