Otto Eder "Mutter mit Kind II" 1945
Die Plastik "Mutter mit Kind" gehört zu den wenigen, sehr frühen Arbeiten des Seebodener Künstlers Otto Eder. 21 Jahre alt und schwer verletzt, kehrte Eder 1945 aus dem Krieg zurück. In einer Werkstatt für Kirchenfiguren in Graz setze er für kurze Zeit seine bildhauerischen Studien fort, die er vor dem Krieg begonnen hatte. Damals entstand diese Eindrucksvolle Studie mütterlicher Liebe und Zuneigung. Später war Otto Eder Studen bei Fritz Wotruba an der Akademie in Wien. Er entwickelte sich zu einem der bedeutenden Bildhauer Österreichs in der zweiten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts. Frau und Mutteridol wurden für Eder zu wichtigen Themen
Eder wurde 1924 in Seeboden geboren und starb hier 1982.
"Mutter mit Kind" ist eine Schenkung der Galerie Altnöder in Salzburg, gewidmet dieser Gemeinde und diesem Ort, wo Otto Eder im Familiengrab seine letzte Ruhe fand.
