Description
English: Woodblock diptych print, oban tate-e. A scene at the Otsu station on the Tokaido from the kabuki play 'Ichidai banashi'. The kabuki actor Sawamura Sojuro as the bandit leader Nippon Daemon (left) seated on a rock holding a baton, looking down at a dancing frog in front of him, and Onoe Kikugoro III as Nakasaina Sonja (right) seated on a giant toad and holding a bowl from which a golden dragon has emerged.
