Čeština: Otakar Machotka (29. listopadu 1899 Praha – 29. července 1970, Endicott, New York, USA) byl československý sociolog, politik a účastník protinacistického odboje za druhé světové války. Byl autorem řady odborných článků a monografií, československým průkopníkem sociologie rodiny a zakladatelem první manželské poradny v Praze. Za druhé světové války se zapojil do odboje. V roce 1945 byl (jako místopředseda České národní rady) přítomen podpisu "Protokolu o provedení formy kapitulace německých branných sil" ze dne 8. května 1945. Kapitulační protokol byl podepsán mezi německým generálem pěchoty - velitelem jednotek Wehrmachtu v Praze - Rudolfem Toussaintem a představiteli České národní rady, Vojenského velitelství Velké Prahy "Bartoš" a povstaleckého velitelství "Alex". Po Únoru 1948 byli čeští signatáři tohoto dokumentu komunistickým režimem pronásledováni. Otakar Machotka byl vytěsněn z univerzitního a politického života na což reagoval v březnu 1948 odchodem do emigrace. S manželkou a třemi dětmi odcestoval do USA. Roku 1950 byl Otakar Machotka jmenován řádným profesorem sociologie na Harpo College State University of New York v Binghamtonu. V exilu zůstal po zbytek své vědecké dráhy.
