vers. GERMAN MEASLES. Rubella. German Measles differ from true measles bythe rash appearing almost simultaneously withfever and other premonitory symptoms, and theabsence of the watery eyes, catarrh and cough. It is distinguished from Scarlet Fever by theabsence of vomiting, absence of the strawberrytongue, by the more elevated rash, which oftenoccurs in patches with well defined margins, andthe enlarged lymphatic glands under ears, jawsand armpits. Treat the same as measles. CHICKENPOX. Varicella. For several days before t^°. eruption the childmay have mild headache, a little chilliness, lossof appetite, perhaps nausea and a moderate fev-er—ioo to 102 degrees. The rash appears irregularly scattered overthe body, being most abundant on the back, andleast upon the face, except a few on the fore-head and temples. The eruption resembles waterblisters. A peculiar feature of chickenpox is that theeruption comes out in successive crops—whenone set is about maturing another set are just
