l muscle or a semi-pa-ralysis of the governing nerves. If the coccyx or uterus is interfering it must bereplaced into proper position by an expert osteo-path. If the rectum is contracted it should bedilated by introducing one or more fingers andstretching in every direction, twice each week. Give a general spinal treatment, fig. 37. In-hibit the splanchnic nerves by a firm, steadypressure for two minutes where indicated, byboth hands, fig. 32; on left side, stretch themuscles and stimulate the nerves to the liver,fig. 34; stimulate the vagus nerve, fig. 22; thor-oughly knead the entire abdomen, fig. 53, partic-ularly on the left side; treat and shake the liver,fig. 55 ; and the spleen, fig. 57; give the bent kneerolling treatment, fig. 39; both knees bent, fig.40; and finish with the spinal tonic, fig. 51, butfor the lower half of the spine only. A rectal enema of warm water should be takentwice each day, during the first two days. Drinkplenty water. Eat nothing for forty-eight hours.
