Bij de Schilderkunst is een doek voor de mond gebonden. Dit verwijst naar Horatius' Ut pictura poesis (Poëzie is zoals schilderkunst). De omlijsting is bekroond met een cartouche waarin Amor. Onder de omlijsting een cartouche waarin een vrouw met muurkroon (Cybele?). Dit cartouche wordt geflankeerd door de Dood als skelet en een oude man die zojuist is ontwaakt.
