Description
English: A rare Chevrolet Caprice PPV owned by the Ormond Beach Police Department in front of the photographer while driving northbound on U.S. Route 1 and the intersection with Plantation Oaks Boulevard and Broadway Avenue just outside of the northern border of Ormond Beach, Florida. This intersection is three blocks south of the on and off-ramps to northbound Interstate 95 at Exit 273. Cars like were released at a time when General Motors, and most of the automotive industry was trying to pass them off as full-size cars. Admittedly, the title of this photo is misleading (Caprice's of that period were on the Zeta platform, rather than the W platform), but it does appear to be the same size as the Chevrolet Impalas and Malibus of the same era.
