A small log cabin tucked among large trees in a forest.

Lake James Patrol Cabin is located on the northern side of the park between Lake James and Windy Gap on a side trail off of the Northern Loop Trail. The original Lake James Patrol Cabin was built in 1929 by the National Park Service. The cabin that stands in the location today was constructed in 1982, adjacent to the original. The rebuilt cabin is no longer a contributing structure in the historic district.
