English: Old document for the creation of the Waterboard Woerden. Transcript, compared and supplemented with transcripts from 1709[1]and 1754[2]:
Wi Willaem, grave van Henegouwen, van Holland, van Zeland ende here van Vriesland, maken cond allen luden, / dat wi bevolen hebben ende bevelen met desen (brieve) onsen baeliu (va)n Woerden, die nu es jof namaels wesen / zal, vive wel gheboren hyemraed(e) te kiesen (om?) onse l(an)de voirseyd mede te bedriven eest zeedijc, middeldijc, zijdwinde / wateringhen, slusen, hoelen en(de) den Marend(ij)c, en(de) (van) den Mare(n)dijc tote Zuadenbur(g)dam toe. Ende ombieden / allen den ghene(n), die onse baeliu voirseyd ten hyemraed kieset, da(t) sijt ane neme(n), en(de) s(i) er toe zueren. Ende na-/ dien dat si ghesuore(n) sien, soo wat (cu)ren dat si legghen, so wa(t) vonnesse si wisen en(de) so wat si over een draghen. / Dat zullen wi vaste ende stade houde(n).
