This generator applied to acoach is shown in Figure 61. The simplicity of the gen-erator is plainly indicated with its carbide chamber atthe top extended downward about three feet and ter-minating in a grating to form the bottom of this recep-tacle. The bottom being filled with water and connectingwith the overhead supply tank which raises the waterup to the grate where it comes in contact with the car-bide generating gas as it does so, and at the same timeslacking the carbide, allowing the residue to drop downto the bottom of the generator. This forms a slightpressure above the water, causing it to recede until thegas is sufficiently drawn off in using, thus automaticallyregulating the making of gas according to the consump-tion.
