Other accompanying apparatus is used, but such asdoes not in any way complicate the installation as awhole. A condenser, storage reservoir and regulator toinsure pure dry gas at a steady pressure, giving thesoft white light characteristic of this gas. In the event of accidents there is no escape of highlycompressed gas to be contended with. The generatoris provided with a safety valve which would not allowbuilding up any high pressure under any emergency,and the system which causes the water to recede when apressure is built up which exceeds the weight of thecolumn of water due to the height of the water supplyperfectly controls the ordinary pressure of gas in thesystem.
