Summary
[edit]DescriptionOpening day for the Fraser Valley Heritage Railway Interurban, from Cloverdale to Sullivan. Surrey BC -b.jpg | Opening day for the Fraser Valley Heritage Railway Interurban, from Cloverdale to Sullivan. Surrey BC. This streetcar, which was only on display and not operational, is ex-Porto, Portugal streetcar 167, repainted as British Columbia Electric Railway 30 (a similar type of streetcar), inside the carbarn of the Fraser Valley Historical Railway Society, in Cloverdale, Surrey, B.C., Canada. Porto 167 was brought to the U.S. in 1985, and was moved to British Columbia in 1989 in trade for another streetcar. It was restored in Victoria between fall 1989 and June 1990 as BCER 30, which had been a similar type of streetcar, for the Greater Victoria Electric Railway Society. It was moved to Surrey in 2002, under an initial 10-year lease to the Fraser Valley Historical Railway Society. In 2015, the car was sold to a group planning a streetcar line in Belmont, North Carolina. |
