Refer to the Captain Arthur H. Clark (papers 1841-1922). Arthur H. Clark, Late Commander of Ship "Verena," Barque "Agnes," Steamships "Manchu," "Suwo Nada," "Venus," and "Indiana. (1863-1877). Author of "The History of Yachting".
Clark captained a vessel named the Suwo Nada, which he commanded, until it struck a rock and subsequently sank in 1869. This may be the vessel in question.
