Nederlands: Dit kaartblad vormt de oostelijke helft van een grotere kaart van Suriname die oorspronkelijk behoort bij het werk 'De landbouw in Suriname' door de in 1828 naar Suriname gezonden landbouwkundige M.D. Teenstra. Die publicatie schenkt speciale aandacht aan het verval van de plantages. Dit oostelijk blad omvat het gebied van de 'oude kolonie'. Hoewel nog steeds de grootste uitbreiding van het cultuurareaal is aangegeven, kan toch niet worden voorbijgaan aan het grote aantal verlaten gronden, waarvoor in de legenda zelfs een aparte plaats werd ingeruimd. |
