RAILWAY No. 70 London continues to be the chief silver market of the world, and the basingpoint of jjrices, and much of the silver bullion shipped from Cobalt now goesdirect to London. The rise of one cent in the yearly average price of silver means an additionalincome to the shipping mines of Cobalt of about $300,000.00. The 1912 averageprice with its 7.5 cents rise over 1911, raises the income of Cobalt by $2,250,000.00.If we assume that the cost of production in 1912 was the same as for the precedingyear, this large increase in income becomes directly available for increased dividends.This will doubtless be reflected in the dividend declarations for the early part of1913. At the beginning of 1912 there were 12 dividend paying companies, and thisnumber was augmented by the addition of the Cobalt Townsite Co
