Summary
[edit]| Description |
English: The present pyramidal, concrete lighthouse on the east pier at Cobourg was built in 1924. Light station was established in 1844.
Tower Height: (40ft) Focal Plane: (49ft) above water level The tower on the west pier (Langevin Pier) with the green top, probably called West Pier Light but I cannot find a name for it. The Langevin Pier was built by the Federal Government to protect the Harbour. It was completed in 1876, but an extension undertaken in 1882-83 brought it to its present length, so that it now encloses what is called the “west basin”. There are two towers used for navigation in the harbour (West Pier with a green top) and another one with a red top inside the harbour. |
