DescriptionOnslow-ford-singer-statue.jpg |
English: Large picture of the statue The Egyptian Singer by Edward Onslow Ford. Scanned and uploaded by User:Lee M. Background lightened for clarity. Taken from The Children's Encyclopedia, first edition, volume 8. The statue is 50% lifesize and cast using the lost-wax method. At the time the photo was taken the statue was coated with a protective layer of brown wax, hiding its polychrome decoration. This was restored by the Tate in the 1980s. |
