Description

"Only silence remained" , by Erik Pevernagie, oil on canvas,100 x100 cm

As we walk down the steps to the unchartered rims of our life, we may become aware of unsuspected beacons we have ignored thus far, discover unsolved enigmas of our identity and so get insight into the undisclosed intricacies of our shared environment.

When silence remains…

As emotions may gradually take apart the rational blueprints in our imagination, dreams may reveal what is hidden in the safe haven of our mind and disclose elements that bring to light some baffling qualities we might not have presumed.

When silence remains….

When one is lost in time, when the moment that "was," no longer "is," when one frequently walks up the memory lane to pay a visit to the shadows of the past, one may wonder and ask oneself, "Where are we now?".

When silence remains …

If the vibrant and frolicking merry-go-round of our daily living has been ousted by an eerie void of an intractable vacuum, only inspiriting memories may shore up our inner world.

When only silence remains, and only memories speak, when the characters of the past remain soundless, the time may have come "to walk the dead." We may walk our missing shadows just like we may walk our cherished dog. Though the dead may be departed, they may still be alive in our minds. Conversely, some may be "bodily" present but emotionally absent in our life story scenario.
