Horses for the bridle-path werestanding under the tree awaiting ourarrival. There was neither house norshelter of any kind to be seen, so weprepared to mount from the steps ofthe carriage. We donned our raincoats, and unfurled our broad-brimmedstraw hats, and expanded ourselves in-to the saddles astride.
