Summary

[edit]
Description One of the sacred Sika deer startles a tourist on the beach at the Miyajimacho island near Hiroshima, Japan. He stuck his snout unexpectedly into a food bag the lady was carrying. Her companions have jumped up are are about to hurry away. I'd just witnessed one of these deer sticking his snout into a lady's hand while approaching from behind. The startled lady screamed and jumped up in a hurry. Right after this (see next picture), you will see another of these deer harassing a family on the beach. The sacred Sika deer on Miyajimacho island are considered sacred in Shinto Buddhism especially as one of the bodhisatavas is believed to have come here riding a white deer. Notes about the deer on Miyajimacho island and the reservations some people have about their being denied their natural diet and depending instead on humans appeared earlier in this album. (see previous pictures). (Hiroshima,Japan, Apr/ May 2019)
