Description
English: The twin 30-meter (98 feet)-high switchyards at the National Ignition Facility (NIF) are designed for convenient access and maintenance. The pedestrian and equipment platforms are isolated from the beam support infrastructure to prevent mechanical vibration of the laser beams. NIF is located at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in northern California.
