Description
Slovenčina: Okolité skalné bralá. Chorvátske mestečko Omiš s asi 6 tisíc obyvateľmi, rozprestierajúce sa pri ústi rieky Cetina, na pobreží Jadranského mora. Vzniklo z rímskej osady Oneum. Už od 7.storočia bolo známe ako nedobytné opevnené sídlo pirátov. Miestni piráti boli postrachom byzantských, benátskych a chorvátskych lodí. Z mesta je len 26 kilometrov do Splitu. Omiš je známy nielen Omišskou riviérou so svojou plážou ale aj kaňonom, cez ktorý preteká rieka Cetina. Nad mestom sa týči skalná pevnosť Mirabela (Peovica), ktorá pochádza z 13.storočia. Cenný je aj kostol svätého Petra pochádzajúci asi z 10. storočia. Mohutne pôsobia aj pozostatky pevnosti Starigrad. Barokový kostol svätého Michala pochádza zo 17.storočia. Blízko kostola je Dom šťastného človeka s nápisom - Ďakujem Ti Bože, že som žil na tomto svete.
