Español: Un nuevo descubrimiento ha resuelto parte del misterio que rodea a Omega Centauri, el cúmulo globular más grande y brillante del cielo. Imágenes obtenidas con la Cámara Avanzada para Estudios a bordo del Telescopio Espacial Hubble de NASA/ESA y datos obtenidos por el espectrógrafo GMOS en el telescopio Gemini South en Chile muestran que Omega Centauri parece albergar un elusivo agujero negro de masa intermedia en su centro.
English: A new discovery has solved part of the mystery surrounding Omega Centauri, the largest and brightest globular cluster in the sky. Images obtained with the Advanced Camera for Surveys aboard the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope and data obtained by the GMOS spectrograph on the Gemini South telescope in Chile show that Omega Centauri appears to harbor an elusive intermediate-mass black hole at its center.
