Summary

English: Ombersley Court - 2 Close-up of the house from the footpath crossing the estate - about as close as can be achieved via public access. Samuel Sandys, the first Lord Sandys (1695-1770), MP for Worcester, rose to become Chancellor of the Exchequer and a member of the Privy Council. His 1724 mansion, designed and built by Francis Smith of Warwick, stands on the site of the former Abbots buildings. Ashlar refronting by John Webb of Lichfield took place in 1814. |
