Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Omagh town cemetery, Dublin Road. The locals often refer to it as "the dead centre of Omagh". It was opened at the turn of the century and has a church in the middle. Traditionally Protestants were buried to the left and Catholics to the right. An interesting fact is that one of the founders, Charles Mullin, solicitor was a member of the council and was present at the opening and remarked that he wondered who would be the first person to be interred. He died the next day aged 38 and was buried on 3rd April, 1902 and his dark coloured obelisk is erected at the right of the screen.
