This is a picture of the Whirl Wind ride at Olentangy Amusement Park in Columbus, Ohio. The park opened in 1893 as the Villa and in 1896, the Columbus Street and Railroad Company bought it and renamed it Olentangy Park. In the 1910s, it was the largest amusement park in the United States. In 1938 it was sold to L.L. LeVeque and turned into the Olentangy Village apartment complex. |
